Yerba taragui comes from the Corrientes province of Argentina, and in fact "Taragüi" means "Corrientes" in the indigenous Guaraní language of the area.

This yerba has been producted by El Establecimiento Las Marías since the 1920's, and is now one of the largest and most popular brands of yerba mate.
